Who wants Babycakes?

The orders for my home-based "bakery" are rollin' in, and I'm rollin' them out as quickly as I can. I'm actually really surprised at how well my family and friends are responding to my idea. I get calls every week from people telling me that they've been talking to their friends and have mentioned Babycakes and now they're friends are interested in receiving my monthly specials! I just didn't know that Babycakes would catch on so quickly, and I think Babycakes will be a huge hit next month, with my Christmas cookies and candies. So I'm definitely looking forward to spending my winter months in my nice toasty kitchen. And I can't thank everybody enough for being so supportive of Babycakes and helping to turn my dream into a reality.
For this particular order, my friend bought a Cranberry Upside Down Cake and a Praline Pumpkin Pie (which I blogged about in October). And let me just tell you my house was smelling so amazing yesterday when I baked these little goodies. The Cranberry Upside Down cake had me drooling from the moment I started melting the butter and brown sugar. The best thing about this cake is how light and airy the batter is, which is made possible by beating the egg whites and adding them carefully to the cake batter.

And the cranberries look like little ruby jewels, glistening with their buttery-sugary glaze. I must admit, I started to get a little nervous when the timer went off and I had to turn the cake out of the pan. I was just praying and praying that it would come right out and everything would be perfect. So, with a deep breath I grabbed my oven mitts put a platter on top of the cake pan and flipped. Yahoo!!! The cake slid right out and looked absolutely AMAZING! I was so excited and, of course, relieved.

Now for the packaging! I want to make sure that all Babycakes items are beautifully packaged and offer my customers more than they would find at the local supermarket. So, while shopping around the other day I came across these adorable fall pie boxes, which ended up being one of the best things I've ever bought. The decorations on the boxes were perfect for my Fall themed desserts and were so sturdy and stable. With the Babycakes tag attached and my boxes sealed and ready for delivery, I was out the door and off to see my friend, excited to give her my Babycakes packages!
